Eliot made a low grumbling noise that sounded little different from how he would sound as a human, but bore it silently while Dean looked through his fur to locate the wound that had shifted with his form. He could feel its pain so he knew it was still there.
He surprised himself by nuzzling the hand on his head. His eyes phased slightly golden as he did so, the relaxing gesture coming from more the animal than the man.
But Dean was right, he couldn't stay here the whole time. Wriggling his nose slightly at the distasteful smell, Eliot decided it was time for him to try to get up. He hated Dean seeing him like this as it was.
He tried to draw his legs back out under him. Attempting to raise, he managed to stand but wobbled unsteadily as he took a tentative step. Damnit, his limbs felt like wet noodles still.
