This may very well be Dean's first time in seeing Eliot sleeping on the bed. The other two times Eliot had fallen asleep later than Dean and left before the hunter wrote up.
This time though, due to the wound and Dean's soothing petting, he was fast asleep in the hunter's arms.
When Dean woke, the tired werewolf was still asleep.
